After twelve faithful years (2013-2025) of serving alongside our church family, Pastor David Huffstutler has discerned the Lord's calling to shepherd the congregation at First Baptist Church of Troy, Michigan.

His investment in our lives through God's Word has shaped our hearts and strengthened our faith in Christ Jesus. As we enter this season of pastoral transition, we humbly request your prayers for our church family. We trust in the Lord's perfect timing and guidance as we seek His will for our next pastor. During this time, our church leadership remains committed to faithful ministry and continued spiritual growth.

Pastor Hockema became one of our pastors in April of 2018. Before coming to First Baptist Church, he served as an assistant pastor for Inter-City Baptist Church in Allen Park, MI (1997-2005), and the lead pastor for Lena Baptist Church in Lena, IL (2008-2017).

After completing his B.A. at Maranatha Baptist University, he went on to complete his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Jennifer have three grown children: two of whom are married and living in Wisconsin, and one who is a recent college graduate. Pastor Hockema is thankful to be able to serve the members of FBC and the community of Rockford.
